The 27-year-old was well down the pecking order and Bradford were willing to let him leave.
Meanwhile, Bradford are reported to have missed out on Manchester United duo Chris Eagles and Danny Simpson.
Bantams boss Colin Todd is keen to bolster his squad and has been actively scouring the transfer market for reinforcements.
Todd is thought to have enquired about taking Eagles and Simpson on loan, but missed out on the pair with Eagles joining Watford and Simpson making the move to United's feeder club Royal Antwerp.
