Youga rejects Bantams return

Charlton defender Kelly Youga has rejected the chance to return to Bradford.

Charlton defender Kelly Youga has rejected the chance to return to Bradford.

Youga spent a spell on loan on Bradford last season playing 11 games for the Yorkshire outfit.

Bantams boss Stuart McCall was keen to bring Youga back to Valley Parade, but the defender has decided against a return on loan.

"It's a pity because Kelly did well here but he doesn't want to drop down to League Two and I can understand that.

"I got a call from Phil Parkinson [Charlton assistant manager] and then gave Kelly a ring but his agent said that he'd had other offers from clubs in the Championship and League One.

"It might have been different if he had been signing for three years but when you're just going out on loan you want to play at the highest level you can."
