Bradford centre-half Steve Williams has been told by Peter Jackson he has a future with the club, provided he works hard.
The 24-year-old was signed from non-league side Bamber Bridge two years ago but was criticised by former boss Peter Taylor for a lack of professionalism, and was eventually dropped towards the end of last season by Jackson. However, Jackson insists that Williams is still part of his plans and feels that the arrival of veteran defender Guy Branston will help Williams to reignite his career after a poor showing in 2010/11. Jackson told the Bradford Telegraph & Argus: "Williams has a future here without a shadow of a doubt. He's got all the attributes to go on but it's down to him. "I was disappointed with him in games last season and I'm hoping someone like Branston will bring out the best in him and carry him along. "Williams is in my plans and it's down to him to remain in them. He has to up his game and his discipline and so far I've had no problems with him."
