Ramsden ready to boost Bantams

Bradford defender Simon Ramsden is poised to make his return after being included in the squad for the first time since February.

Ramsden, who suffered no reaction after appearing in a behind-closed-doors match last week, will be in Phil Parkinson's squad for Tuesday night's Johnstone's Paint Trophy clash at Sheffield United. The 29-year-old full-back has been dogged by related hip and calf problems in recent years, making only three appearances last season and he has yet to feature for the Bantams during the current campaign. Manager Phil Parkinson told the club's official website: "It's great for him because he's had a long road to get to this stage in his recovery. "He's in a lot better place mentally than he was when I first came into the club. He feels he's ready for this opportunity. "He played in the reserve fixture last week and got 60 minutes under his belt, so will come back into contention. Simon's return will certainly be a boost for everyone at the club."
