Defender Guy Branston has expressed his regret at unfulfilled ambitions at Bradford following his release from Valley Parade.
The 33-year-old was signed by former Bantams boss Peter Jackson last summer and immediately made captain with the charge of spearheading a Bantams promotion push. But that never materialised and after making just 19 appearances, Jackson's successor Phil Parkinson has allowed the former Rotherham man to leave on a free transfer. Branston said: "I'm obviously disappointed that I didn't do it there. I ended the season really well and thought I balanced the books after a poor start. But it wasn't to be and it's one of those things you have to take on the chin. "I have no malice towards Phil Parkinson and can only applaud the club for their professionalism. To be fair I had my head turned a few times this summer but I turned them down because I wanted to fulfil what I set out to do at Bradford. "It was massively important that I was successful there. But you go back to the club and you say you want to stay, but they keep telling you they want you to go, it becomes a frustrating time."
