POLLITT ASKS FOR MOVE

CHESTERFIELD goalkeeper Mike Pollitt has dealt the troubled club a further blow by handing in a transfer request after not being paid his wages.

The former Rotherham keeper has not been paid for the past fortnight and now is looking for a move away from Saltergate.

The Spireites are deep in trouble with the future ownership of the club still unknown, and an FA panel due to decide a further punishment for their financial irregularities.

The original punishment of nine points deducted was ruled to be too lenient by the panel, and could still face exclusion from the Football League.

Pollitt has been in great form this season, making it into the PFA Team of the Year for the Third Division, and he would be a great loss to the side if they made it to Division Two.

Chesterfield boss Nicky Law has said that Pollitt has made his decision because of personal reasons, including his wife expecting their first child.
