Goalkeeper Mike Pollitt took a similar course of action, but withdrew his notice after having his wages settled, while Ian Breckin has also threatened to walk out on The Spireites.
A statement from the Chesterfield Football Supporters Society read: "The society is working desperately hard to source income in order to pay the players' wages for April and were sorry to learn that Luke Beckett has joined Mike Pollit and Ian Breckin as players that have chosen to utilise their right to give 14 days notice."
Beckett, who was at the centre of an FA inquiry into financial irregularities at the club, would be a much sought-after target, following his impressive goalscoring feats for the North Derbyshire club after joining them from Chester City.
