Jamie Jackson and Jamie Lowry have been given professional deals by Chesterfield.

Jamie Jackson and Jamie Lowry have both been handed professional contracts by Chesterfield.

The pair are scholars from the club's centre of excellence and have been handed two-year deals at Saltergate.

Lowry and Jackson, both 19, are members of the club's youth team that are on course to win their division and Spireites manager Roy McFarland believes they both deserve the chance to prove themselves in The Football League.

"Getting their first professional contract is an important step for the youngsters and a chance for them to let us see how they go," said McFarland on the club's official website.

"They have worked very hard and deserve their chance to develop further and cut it at a professional level.

"Jamie [Jackson] is following in the footsteps of his older brother Kevin Davies, now of Bolton Wanderers, who also started his professional career with Chesterfield.

"He has already shown he has bags of potential and now has a chance to develop his game at professional level.

"Jamie [Lowry] is an outstanding prospect who already has a good understanding of the game and has shown he has many of the attributes to become a professional footballer."
