Chesterfield midfielder Danny Whitaker admits his side are eager to bounce back after suffering their first home league defeat on Saturday.
Burton Albion became the first team to inflict a League Two loss on John Sheridan's side at the b2net Stadium with a 2-1 victory over the promotion contenders.
However, Whitaker feels that the dismissal of Chesterfield goalscorer Derek Niven was the crucial event in an otherwise tight game.
Whitaker told
skysports.com: "We were going into the match full of confidence as we were unbeaten on our own turf, and were looking forward to it like every home game.
"We started well despite going a goal down early on, but managed to equalise just before half-time through Niven.
"But after the break he was sent off for something out of nothing and then we knew it was going to be a 'backs against the wall' job.
"I thought we were going to nick a draw to be honest, but it wasn't to be."
Negative tactics
The Spireites will quickly get the chance to avenge that defeat when they face Paul Peschisolido's side at the Pirelli Stadium on 27th November in the FA Cup second round.
"We'll go there looking to progress after they beat us at home," added Whitaker. "We feel we've got a score to settle.
"It will be interesting to see how they set up their side because I felt they were a little negative with their tactics on Saturday, playing five men in midfield and looking to hit us on the break.
"They'll be at home and we'll see if that motivation provokes them to change a few things."
