Cook: We go with no fear

Paul Cook insists Chesterfield will travel to Tranmere brimming with confidence and with no fear of the League One leaders.

Cook's Spireites are riding the crest of a wave having triumphed at Plymouth last weekend to extend their winning league run to three matches. Thirty-six league positions separate the two clubs heading into Saturday's FA Cup second round tie at Prenton Park, but Cook believes his side can carry on their momentum and claim another victory. "Plymouth completed a good week for us, it gave us nine points and put us back in the top half of the table where we should be," said Cook, who played for Rovers between February 1996 and October 1997. "But that's in the past and it's important that we look forward and keep getting stronger. "They're top of the league above us so the draw couldn't have been any more difficult at this stage of the competition. If we were playing a team 36 places below us in the football pyramid, we'd expect to win at home. That's just the simple mathematics of the game. "But we expect to win at Tranmere on Saturday, we're going well. We go there to win the football game, we go there with no fear; none at all."
