Rotherham have signed former Republic of Ireland defender Stephen Kelly after a successful trial.

The 32-year-old has been training with the Millers for the last couple of weeks having been without a club since his summer exit from Reading and signs until the end of the season.

Kelly, who has won 38 Ireland caps and played in the Premier League for Tottenham, Birmingham, Stoke, Fulham and Reading, is expected to go straight into the squad to face Leeds on Saturday.

He becomes the second signing of the week for boss Neil Redfearn after Leon Best put pen to paper on a similar deal earlier this week.

Redfearn said: "Stephen is obviously a vastly experienced player. He is a fit lad, he has looked after himself well.
