Quakers go top and Stanley climb

Darlington are back at the top of the League Two table after securing a comfortable 2-0 win away at Rotherham thanks to strikes from Pawel Abbott and Gregg Blundell. Accrington moved out of the drop-zone after thrashing Grimsby 4-1 with Paul Mullin and Andrew Proctor both bagging a brace. Mullin scored his goals either side of Paul Bolland's 57th minute effort for Grimsby and Proctor finished off the rout to give Stanley their second win of the season. A net-buster from Anthony Thomas gave Barnet a point with Daggers 'keeper Tony Roberts in superb form in front of the Sky Sports cameras. Thomas' strike cancelled out Ben Strevens' opener on 20 minutes after the former Barnet hitman capitalised on a series of comedy errors in defence to poke the ball past Lee Harrison. Macclesfield's late showing against Hereford meant they picked up all three points on their travels. Accrington Stanley 4 Grimsby 1 Paul Mullin and Andrew Proctor ran riot as they bagged two goals each and killed off Grimsby in a 4-1 thumping. Proctor's 29th minute penalty for the league's basement boys recorded Accrington's first league goal in 331 minutes. Paul Bolland replied for Town on 57 minutes after Mullin put Stanley 2-0 ahead, but his second and Proctor's injury-time effort put the game to rest. Dagenham & Red 1 Barnet 1 Daggers 'keeper Tony Roberts was in fine form, making a string of top-class saves to keep Barnet at bay in a scrappy affair. Ben Strevens pounced on a catalogue of Barnet defensive errors to put the home side ahead on 20 minutes when he chased a loose ball and prodded it past Lee Harrison for 1-0. The Bees equalised on the stroke of half-time through an Anthony Thomas thunderbolt, his first ever league goal. Barnet's Jason Puncheon came close to setting a club record with his fifth in five games but was denied by Roberts who quickly recovered after spilling his original effort to keep the scores level. Hereford 0 Macclesfield 1 Francis Green's 82nd minute winner gave Macclesfield all three points, lifting them from 16th in the table. Rotherham 0 Darlington 2 Polish striker Pawel Abbott continued to pay back his £100,000 transfer fee from Swansea by adding another to his growing tally as he put Darlington ahead on 10 minutes. Gregg Blundell (76) made it two at Millmoor moving The Quakers into top spot level on points with Chesterfield. Stockport 1 Shrewsbury 1 Dave Hibbert scored for the visitors on 25 minutes and County striker Adam Proudlock (32) equalised soon after with his third this season.
