Scott salutes new skipper

Manager Andy Scott believes Danny Harrison was the "natural choice" to take over the Rotherham captaincy.

Midfielder Harrison became the fifth skipper of the season when he took the armband for the home game with Aldershot after Ryan Cresswell, Michael Raynes, Johnny Mullins and Alex Revell had all previously led the side out. And it brought instant success for the Millers, who, after a 10-game winless run, have recorded victories in both of Harrison's games at the helm. "He is a very, very good pro and took the captaincy in his stride and didn't change his game because of it," Scott said. "I have always liked Danny when I have seen him play. He is tenacious, works hard, gives his all and is a good player at this level. "I was surprised when he wasn't in the team all the time before I came because you need your soldiers in the side. He has been excellent for me this season and he wants to improve and do better."
