Middlesbrough keen on Argentine

Middlesbrough are hot on the trail of Walsall forward Emmanuel Ledesma, Sky Sports understands. The Argentine is currently in his second spell at the Banks's Stadium after re-joining the club in March. Ledesma is no stranger to England having spent much of the 2008-09 season on loan at Queens Park Rangers from Genoa. Further spells in Italy followed before he joined Brighton on trial last year. Although he failed to win a move to the AMEX Stadium, he caught the eye of Walsall who offered him a deal. After helping the Saddlers battle against relegation, he returned back to Argentina with his first ever club Defensa y Justicia. He then moved back to Walsall in March this year and he has been hugely impressive with four goals in seven starts thus far. Now a host of Championship clubs are understood to be tracking Ledesma - who is still only 23 - with Middlesbrough believed to be heading the chase.
