Rotherham face a tough fight to land latest transfer target David Noble, assistant manager Paul Raynor has confirmed.

Former Arsenal, West Ham and Exeter midfielder Noble, 30, is in talks with several clubs after choosing to leave St James' Park in the close season. "David is a player that we like, but I know that we will have tough competition from elsewhere," Raynor told the club's official website. The Millers have so far added nine new faces to the squad for next season, their inaugural campaign in their purpose-built New York Stadium. Raynor added: "The lads have worked hard and the new faces are starting to integrate very nicely. We have gradually stepped up training as the week has progressed and the players have responded very well."
