Chesterfield manager Paul Cook insists there have been no offers from other clubs for any of his players.

This week has seen Aston Villa, who last summer signed Spireites striker Jordan Bowery, linked with midfielder Tendayi Darikwa while Leeds were reported to be weighing up a move for goalkeeper Tommy Lee and Rotherham interested in signing transfer-listed defender Sam Hird.

With Chesterfield currently around B£130,000 over budget players will have to be moved out before any more new signings can be made.

Cook admits he would like to do more business in the transfer market but at the moment there has been no contact regarding any potential outings.

"Is anyone interested in our players? No. We would like to move one or two about, both in and out, but we are not touting our players about," said Cook, who revealed he will be casting his eye over a trialist next week.

"What we are saying is that if someone was to come in then someone will have to go out. There are areas I would like to strengthen and our recruitment process is ongoing, it never stops. We work at it all the time."

On the trialist due at the club, Cook added: "We have got a lad coming in next week that we are going to have a look at. He is playing Monday and then he is going to play against Sheffield Wednesday (in a behind-closed-doors game) on the Tuesday."
