Evans has guided Rotherham to back-to-back promotions, culminating in their Sky Bet League 1 play-off victory over Leyton Orient last Sunday at Wembley.
Evans said he was delighted at signing a new deal and is now looking forward to next season in the Sky Bet Championship.
"I am very proud to serve Rotherham United Football Club and work for our chairman Tony Stewart and also our loyal fanbase," he said.
"It was an easy decision to sign this contract; the terms of the contract were quite literally decided in just two minutes. It was that easy.
"I have thoroughly enjoyed my time as manager of this magnificent club and I am looking forward to many more years at the helm, starting with what is set to be an exciting season back in The Championship.
"The chairman and I live and breathe this football club every day, we share the same ambition, belief and vision for this club.
"Everyone from top to bottom is pulling in the same direction and that is what makes this club so special.
"Now I have signed this deal nothing will change in terms of my approach.
"I will still be the first into the club, and the last out - the hard work must continue.
"The amount of success we've had as a management team has come from a strong work ethic and it gives me great pleasure to confirm that Paul (assistant manager Paul Raynor) will be staying alongside me as well."
