Nelson out till New Year

Brentford have lost goalkeeper Stuart Nelson until the New Year with an ankle problem.

Brentford caretaker manager Scott Fitzgerald has lost goalkeeper Stuart Nelson until the New Year with an ankle problem.

The former Doncaster Rovers custodian has damaged ligaments in his ankle - thus ruling him out for the remainder of 2006.

The injury news, however, is brighter regarding long-term absentees Calum Willock and Lloyd Owusu, as both have resumed training with the South West London outfit.

"We've had the results of Stuart's scan and it highlights ligament damage, which will keep him out until New Year," Fitzgerald told the Brentford's official website.

"However, with regard to Calum and Lloyd, it is better news.

"Both have completed a week's training, with Calum taking part in an 11-a-side contact match.

"It is positive news, with both of them getting fitter by the day."
