Brentford have signed striker Scott Hogan from Rochdale for an undisclosed fee.

The 22-year-old, who scored 19 goals in all competitions last season, completed the move on Monday morning and has agreed a three-year contract.

Brentford manager Mark Warburton said: “We are delighted to have secured the signature of Scott Hogan, a player we have tracked for a long period.

“We have admired his obvious goal-scoring ability and all-round contribution over that period of time.

“Scott fits our criteria in terms of age and development and potential. It is testament to the work of a sporting director Frank McParland and his team that we have got Scott.

“We once again fought off a number of Championship rivals for his signature.

“We look forward to Scott being involved tomorrow [Tuesday July 22] against Barnet and playing a significant role in the season ahead.”

Hogan, who came through the Rochdale academy, was shortlisted for the Sky Bet League 2 Player of the Year award last season and was named in the PFA League 2 Team of the Year, after scoring 17 goals in 33 League Two games.

Hogan came through the youth ranks at Rochdale before being released in 2010 before he had made a first-team appearance, but after three years in non-league he went back to the club, signing a two-year contract last summer.
