Colchester have signed central defender Luke Prosser from Southend, subject to paperwork.
Prosser, 28, has put pen to paper on a two-year deal with the U's following his release from Southend.
"Luke's move will be completed subject to paperwork clearance from the relevant authorities," Colchester said on their official club website.
Prosser progressed through Tottenham's academy and moved on to Port Vale and then Southend, for whom he made 131 appearances. He also featured on eight occasions while on loan at Sky Bet League Two champions Northampton last season.
