Notts County's prospective new owner Alan Hardy has moved to reassure fans his takeover will still go through despite delays in his plans.
Hardy expected to complete the deal over the weekend but took to Twitter on Monday night to remove the phrase 'Notts County chairman' from his profile's biography.
He also said: "Really sorry for the radio silence. Still trying desperately to structure long term financial security for this great football club."
Despite two days of negotiations, Sky sources have been told lawyers are still trying to iron out 'one or two issues' as they look to conclude a deal.
Nottingham businessman Hardy has been bidding to complete a deal for the Meadow Lane club since before Christmas.
More recently, County sacked John Sheridan as manager on January 2 following eight consecutive defeats in League Two.
Former Manchester United and Leeds forward Alan Smith was placed in caretaker charge and oversaw a ninth loss on Saturday when Morecambe won 4-1 at The Globe Arena.
County are currently 22nd in the table and despite their woeful form they remain a point ahead of the relegation zone.
