Crewe midfielder Danny Hollands set to miss rest of season

Crewe boss David Artell thinks Danny Hollands' hamstring injury will see him miss the remainder of the season.

Hollands has been out since suffering tendon damage in mid-February, when a two-month recovery period was diagnosed.

The 31-year-old had hoped to add to his 29 appearances this season before the campaign ends on May 6, but Artell feels the home game against Barnet will come too soon.

"Dan's going along well and healing quickly, but I think he might just run out of time," Artell told the club's official website.

"Being the good pro that he is, he's absolutely grafting his socks off to try and get back and make it happen for that game.

"I would say that is on the unlikely side though. For the sake of one game, I wouldn't want him to rush back too soon, get injured again, then be facing a big problem in the summer.

"I know what he can do, so I won't be making a decision on one game and whether or not he makes that last game of the season."
