Bury have appointed caretaker boss Ryan Lowe as their permanent manager in the wake of their relegation to Sky Bet League Two.
Lowe has signed a two-year contract with the Shakers, who finished bottom of League One with just eight wins all season.
"I am over the moon to become first-team manager on a two-year contract," Lowe told the club's official website.
"You don't know what this means to me and my family. This club is my club, and I am going to do what's needed to bring the good times back to Bury.
"I would like to place on record my thanks to the Chairman, who has put his trust and faith in me and also to Karl Evans and Glenn Thomas for believing that I am the man to take this football club forward.
"Recruitment is already underway with potential signings coming in, who I believe will give me and the club everything they have out on the pitch.
"I want players who will play for the badge on their shirts with passion, pride, and fight. We are currently in the process of working on the retained list which will see some players staying with us and others moving on.
"Finally, I would like to thank the fans for their continued support; be patient, believe, and we can achieve together."
Lowe first took charge of the Shakers after Lee Clark was sacked in October, and subsequently guided the club to two wins out of six before Chris Lucketti was appointed manager.
Lowe was placed in interim charge for a second time in January after Lucketti left the club, but could only guide Bury to four wins out of 19 as the club finished bottom of the division.
