Port Vale boss Martin Foyle is not happy that Clayton Fortune's move from Bristol City has stalled.
The 23-year-old has been on loan at Vale Park since November and Foyle is keen to keep the highly-rated defender on a permanent basis.
Vale have agreed a deal with Bristol City but, with the final decision resting on the player, Fortune is sticking to his guns, claiming that he will not discuss his future until the end of the current campaign.
But Foyle does not feel there would have been a problem in Fortune signing early if people had left the youngster to his own devices, blaming outside parties for their interference.
"I thought we could sort something but word got out and various people have rattled Clayton's cage," Foyle fumed.
"He has given me his word and we will speak again after the season."
Foyle also confirmed that Port Vale are close to a permanent deal for Crystal Palace defender Sam Togwell.
"Sam has agreed a contract but we are still sorting one or two things with Palace," he said.
