Wycombe dealt double blow

Paul Lambert has confirmed that Scott Shearer and Jamie Young have both been ruled out for prolonged periods.

Goalkeepers out for lengthy periods

Wycombe Wanderers boss Paul Lambert has confirmed that goalkeepers Scott Shearer and Jamie Young both face prolonged spells on the sidelines. Shearer has broken an ankle in training, while Young's hamstring injury is worse than was first feared. Medical reports revealed that Young's injury is more complicated than initially thought, and the Australian is likely to be out for months rather than weeks.

Emergency loan

Lambert confirmed the double blow and revealed that he now plans to act quickly in bringing in an experienced replacement. "This is unbelievably bad news. We were just coming to terms with Jamie's injury when Scott snapped his ankle during training when he caught his studs in the turf," he told the club's official website. "We're just left with two untried youngsters so we've obviously got to get a goalkeeper in on loan and we've got to act quickly."
