Keeper could be in contention for local derby

Kevin Pilkington has not given up hope of featuring for Notts County again this season. The keeper suffered a leg fracture at the end of February but is due to step up his rehabilitation next week by resuming full training. The Magpies' home game with Wycombe on 26th April is likely to come too soon for the former Manchester United stopper, and he is instead targeting the final game of the season away at Chesterfield as a more realistic option.

Optimistic

"I am very optimistic and I am definitely hoping to be available at Chesterfield," he told the club's official website. "I was aiming for Wycombe, but whether or not I make it is another thing. "I have been working hard in the gym and I started running again last week. I know I have not played for a while, but my reactions and hand-eye co-ordination is good because I have been working with (goalkeeper coach) Steve Cherry. "I can still feel it a little bit, so I need to take it steady but I want to be playing again before the end of the season."
