Four players agree new contracts

Bury boss Alan Knill has made his second signing of the summer with the arrival of former Mansfield midfielder Stephen Dawson. And the Shakers manager has seen four players sign new deals with Cameron Belford, David Buchanan, Brian Barry-Murphy and Glynn Hurst all putting pen to paper. Belford and Hurst have both penned one-year contracts, while Barry-Murphy and Buchanan have signed two-year deals. Dawson, meanwhile, has agreed a two-year stay and becomes the second new face at Gigg Lane following the acquisition of goalkeeper Wayne Brown.

Wilder

Meanwhile, Chris Wilder has been named as Knill's assistant manager. Wilder has left his post as boss of crisis-stricken non-league side Halifax to join the Shakers after a six-year spell with the Shaymen. As a player, Wilder started out as a trainee at Southampton before spells with the likes of Sheffield United, Rotherham, Bradford and Halifax.
