Accrington have announced that veteran striker Paul Mullin will be staying with the club.
The 35-year-old has made over 400 appearances for Accrington since his arrival in 2000 but was placed on the transfer list at the end of last season.
Accrington had hoped he would attract a good offer but nothing acceptable has materialised and he will now remain at the Fraser Eagle Stadium.
"Paul was put on the transfer list purely for financial reasons as we looked to restructure our wage bill, however although there has been some interest there was nothing that was anywhere near a deal that would have been right for both Paul and the club," chief executive Rob Heys told the club's
official website.
"We said last May that although we had made him available for transfer he was still very much an Accrington Stanley player with a year remaining on his contract, and as we start the new season today the time is right for us to confirm this by taking him off the list."
Mullin started Accrington's opening game of the season but was unable to prevent them from sliding to a 1-0 defeat at Rotherham.
King
Gary King was also on the substitutes' bench for the match after earning a contract with his performances during a recent trial.
The 19-year-old midfielder was released by Lincoln earlier in the summer and has played regularly during Stanley's pre-season fixtures.
"He is hungry for goals, works hard and has got a great left foot on him," manager John Coleman told
skysports.com before the deal had been agreed.
"He can play on the wing and also in the middle, so he adds a little versatility to the side as well."
