Accrington Stanley manager John Coleman was disappointed to see long-serving striker Paul Mullin depart for Morecambe this week, but understands that was done for the right reasons.
The 35-year-old joined the Shrimpers on Monday, after over eight years with Stanley.
But Coleman told skysports.com that he was not in a big hurry to replace Mullin.
"Paul has done a smashing job for this football club and it is unfortunate that it wasn't a footballing decision to let him go, but a financial one," he said.
"He has been a very loyal servant for this club over the years and he will be sorely missed, but that is what we had to do in order to readjust the budget.
"We needed a defender in, so bringing Tom Lees in from Leeds on loan was a good bit of business for us, but that it is all we need for now and we will wait until the loan window opens for us to strengthen further."
