Winger given chance to impress Adams

Port Vale have handed a trial to former Crystal Palace youngster Craig Dobson, skysports.com understands. Dobson is a free agent after his short-term deal with Brentford expired at the end of last season. The 25-year-old had a trial at Shrewsbury in the summer, but a move failed to materialise. Port Vale boss Micky Adams has offered Dobson the chance to win a move to Vale Park by inviting him to join them for training. Adams is keen to reshape his squad after putting the entire team on the transfer list following the weekend defeat to Notts County and if Dobson impresses he could win a short-term deal at the League Two outfit.
