Australian feels future is bright after signing two-year contract

Shane Cansdell-Sherriff is aiming to play a big part in Shrewsbury Town's future after signing a new two-year contract. The Australian had attracted interest from other clubs and has seen several key players already opt to leave Shrewsbury over the summer. However, following talks with new manager Graham Turner, the 27-year-old has agreed to stay with the League Two club. The defender told Town's official website: "I'm very happy to be staying with the club and I'm looking forward to helping us achieve some success. "I had a long chat over the summer and then with the new manager after he came in and he showed his interest in me. "The club has a very positive atmosphere at the moment and wants to go forward, and that is something I want to be part of."
