Burton boss Paul Peschisolido has admitted he was impressed by the contribution of trialist Lewis Young.
The 20-year-old striker played and scored in the second half of the Brewers' 5-2 win over Mickleover Sports in a pre-season friendly.
Young, who is the younger brother of Aston Villa winger Ashley, is without a club after leaving Watford due to his contract being cancelled at Vicarage Road.
However, his contribution had not gone unnoticed by Peschisolido, giving an indication that he may offer the player a permanent deal.
"We are going to experiment a little bit with a few formations and Lewis was a bright spark for us," Peschisolido told the club's official website.
"I was very pleased with his overall play and he took his goal well. He also set up another of our goals. I have been fortunate so far because we have had some really good trialists, some young hungry players and that is what we want.
"Lewis has been at Watford and when I spoke to Malky (Mackay) he said that they had let him go because they have got to look after every penny, money is tight there but he recommended him to me and said that he that he just needs someone to put their arm round him sometimes but that he can play a bit and we saw that."
