Oxford have agreed the signing of Josh Payne on a permanent deal, which will be completed when his loan spell ends.

The 19-year-old midfielder has been on loan from Championship side Doncaster, which runs until January, and he will then pen a two-and-a-half-year contract in the new year. "I have really enjoyed my time here on loan and been made to feel at home since the very first day," he told the club's official website. "The fans are great and I am pleased that we have got this sorted and that everything is arranged for me to stay here and try and play my part in taking the club forward." Manager Chris Wilder added: "Josh has done well ever since he walked into the building. He is a player we feel we can develop and one we feel can push us onwards and upwards."
