Macclesfield midfielder Hamza Bencherif is desperate to turn games in hand into points after Saturday's trip to Morecambe was called off.
The Silkmen have up to four games in hand over their rivals after several games were postponed over the festive period.
Their lack of games has seen them sucked into the relegation scrap and the Algerian admits they need to get back to winning ways quickly, with their last victory coming back in November at Bradford.
"Since the Bradford game we have had a very broken fixture list with a number of games being called off for different reasons," Bencherif told skysports.com.
"That doesn't help because you can't generate any momentum, but when we did get back playing we didn't perform either.
"We weren't playing very well before the Bradford game, but were doing enough to pick up points and since then we have picked it up a bit in terms of performances.
"However, the luck seems to have dried up because scoring goals is our biggest problem at the moment.
"If you don't score then you can't win, but hopefully we will snap out of it quickly.
"The league is starting to shape up a bit now, but it doesn't show you the full picture because there are a few teams that have got games to catch up on, including ourselves.
"Burton are a great example as because of their run in the FA Cup and other games being called off due to the weather they have six or seven games to catch up with most clubs around them.
"So, we desperately need to start picking up some points and make sure that we aren't looking over our shoulders."
