Deering seals Barnet switch

Oxford winger Sam Deering is set to return to League Two rivals Barnet after a successful loan, subject to a medical.

The 20-year-old was voted the Bees' Young Player of the Year after impressing during a loan spell at Underhill this season and manager Lawrie Sanchez has wasted little time in sealing a permanent deal for the youngster. Oxford have insisted on including a sell-on clause as part of the deal and Deering will complete his move provided he passes a medical. Sanchez told the Bees' official website: "We are pleased to have Sam on board. We hope he can do with us what he did at the end of last season and become a fans' favourite at Underhill, as he was at Oxford. "Hopefully we will give him a platform to build his career." Deering made 14 appearances for Barnet as they successfully battled to avoid relegation, plus two substitute appearances. He scored both goals in a 2-2 draw with champions Chesterfield.
