Macclesfield midfielder Ross Draper has called on his team-mates not to pity themselves as they fight against the threat of relegation.
The Silkmen have not won in 19 games in all competitions and have subsequently been on a rapid descent in the League Two table. They have slipped into the relegation zone and currently sit 23rd - three points adrift of Barnet. Their battle will not be getting any easier, though. Shrewsbury are next in line for Macclesfield and Draper is hoping the arrival of one of League Two's form teams will spur the Silkmen on. "Obviously when you don't win in 19 games it's hard to take. But we're doing what we can to try and get out of it. It's no good feeling sorry for ourselves," Draper told BBC. "There are no easy games and it might be something that we need - to get a big team at the Moss Rose. If we can get a result, it might just give us the lift that turns our fortunes around." Draper has been injured since the last time Macclesfield won, a 2-1 success over Port Vale on New Year's Eve, but is hoping to recover from an ankle problem and help battle relegation. "I'm not a great watcher and it's not nice to see the results go as they have. If anything, it's inspired me to get fit as quickly as possible."
