Adam Mekki has penned a new deal with Aldershot which keeps him at the Recreation Ground until the summer of 2014.

The 20-year-old winger, an Academy graduate, made his first-team debut for the Shots last February and has since made a total of 28 appearances. Mekki has proved a crucial member of manager Dean Holdsworth's squad of late, featuring in 13 of the club's last 14 games including 10 starts. He said: "This was an easy decision. Dean Holdsworth has been a massive influence for me. "He is the one who has had faith in me and put me into the team. He sent me out on loan to develop my career and that was the right decision as well. To break into the first team now, the timing couldn't have been better. Holdsworth added: "Adam enjoys being here and that is important. When I first came to the club he was out on loan but his potential was evident. I could recognise his talent and if he continues to learn and work hard then he has a great future in the game. We have worked on him and coached him well and he is infectious around the club too."
