Macklin seizes second chance

Lloyd Macklin is determined to take full advantage of his second chance at Torquay ahead of the upcoming season.

The winger was placed on the transfer list by manager Martin Ling at the end of last season, but an impressive pre-season has seen the 22-year-old handed a reprieve. "It's been a good pre-season for me so far," Macklin told the club's official website. "I've got my head down, worked hard and I'm hoping it will get me in the team. "I know I need to be more consistent in my performances. I think people know I've got ability, I know I've got it, but I've not produced on a regular basis. My game is running at people and I'm enjoying the chance to show people what I've got. "I've had conversations with the manager and it's good to hear that I'm off the transfer list. I didn't want to leave and I'm glad to have the chance of getting in the team. "Hopefully, I can find that consistency and I know I can make a difference if I show what I can do."
