Bristol Rovers have confirmed that Matt Harrold has had a successful knee operation but is set to miss the rest of the season.
The striker damaged his anterior cruciate ligament during the 4-0 League Two defeat at Gillingham 11 days ago. He had surgery on Monday and will now begin the long road back to full fitness. A statement on Rovers' official club website said: "We are pleased to report that the operation was a success, and the surgeon was very pleased following the procedure. "Unfortunately, Matt is still expected to miss the rest of the 2012/13 season. Rovers physio Phil Kite will be supervising the rehab process."
