York City have extended the loan stay of Aldershot winger Alex Rodman until the end of the season.

The 25-year-old joined the Minstermen in November and has made eight appearances, scoring one goal. Shots boss Dean Holdsworth believes the extension will allow Rodman to recapture the kind of form he showed when he joined the club back in January 2011. "Alex went to York to get some valuable game time and to discover the form which he had when he first arrived at the club," Holdsworth told the club's official website. "Since then we have signed Kieron Cadogan. With the potential of Adam Mekki added to another possible signing shortly in a similar position, this has enabled me to let Alex stay with York for the rest of the season. "This is good business for us. We supported Alex through the difficulties that he had last season and I am delighted to see him back playing football regularly again."
