Bradford defender Carl McHugh made his debut for the Republic of Ireland Under-21s in their 3-0 friendly win over Holland in Dublin.

The 20-year-old, previously capped at Under-17 and Under-19 level for his country, stepped off the substitutes' bench early in the second half at the Tallaght Stadium. Millwall's Aidan O'Brien struck twice for the Irish in an impressive win and Wolves' Anthony Forde was also on target for Noel King's side. McHugh, who joined the Bantams in the summer following his release from Reading, has made 19 appearances in his first season at Valley Parade and has scored three goals.
