Ref justice riles Bentley

Morecambe boss Jim Bentley has blasted the standard of officials in League Two.

The Shrimps boss was furious with Gavin Ward's decision to award AFC Wimbledon a penalty on the stroke of half-time at the weekend as his side were beaten 2-0. Bentley said after the game that he felt the referee had influenced the result and it had led to him feeling "the lowest (he'd) ever felt". And he has now claimed that he feels his side are not being treat fairly. "I always said when I took this job that I would never talk about referees or blame them when we lose but I just think I need to get my point across now," he told the Morecambe Visitor. "We seem to have been the victim of a lot of poor decisions of late and Saturday was the last straw and I want to discuss a few things. "From the first second of the game when Chris Holroyd was taken out and needed stitches in his mouth to the last we just didn't get anything from the officials at all. "I don't often say this but we were not beaten by the better team on the day we were beaten by the decisions that went against us and that is hard to take. "It's certainly not the first time this season because only a couple of weeks ago Northampton scored a late equaliser that was miles offside and that cost us two points which at the end of the day could have been vital. "We don't want favours but we want fairness and I don't think we are getting that at the minute."
