Parky thanks Bantams fans

Bradford manager Phil Parkinson paid tribute to the club's fans after signing his new deal at Valley Parade.

Parkinson, assistant Steve Parkin and fitness coach Nick Allamby all put pen to paper on new three-year contracts on Wednesday before the club's open-top bus parade in celebration of a memorable season. The Bantams secured their first promotion in 14 years after Saturday's League Two play-off final win over Northampton, three months after becoming the first club from the bottom tier of English football to reach a major cup final at Wembley in the Capital One Cup. Parkinson told the crowd that gathered in Bradford's city centre: "I'd like to thank all the supporters. "Not just for coming out in your numbers here, but for the whole season. You have been absolutely outstanding. "That goes for not just during the times when we have been doing well either. Your support when we have found ourselves a goal down has been as important. "That makes a massive impact and you have played a big part in this season. "When myself and Steve Parkin first came here to the club, we were looking to start a journey. The good news is we're only at the start of it, so we'll see you all next season."
