Oxford United have signed Liechtenstein goalkeeper Benjamin Buchel until the end of the season, subject to a medical.
The 26-year-old stopper enjoyed a successful trial with the U's and impressed manager Michael Appleton enough to earn a contract at the Kassam Stadium.
The goalkeeper has nine caps for his country and had previously been at Premier League new boys Bournemouth but failed to make any appearances in a three-year stint on the south coast.
Appleton told the club's official website: "He's a good keeper who we've seen play for Bournemouth and been very impressed.
"Sam Slocombe has done ever so well but we want him to be pushed all the way and bringing Benji into the club will certainly do that."
