Team of the week
Andy Warrington - Rotherham United
Warrington recorded his sixth clean sheet of the season on Saturday as Rotherham breezed past Aldershot. He was beaten in midweek against Morecambe, but the Millers were able to find two goals of their own and secure back-to-back successes. A solid base has allowed Rotherham to climb into the play-off places.
Luke Wilkinson - Dagenham & Redbridge
Dagenham took just one point from two fixtures in the space of four days, but Wilkinson's efforts deserve to be recognised. The 20-year-old full-back only made his Daggers debut in September, but has made the right-back berth his own with a number of assured displays. The latest of those came at York on Saturday, as he netted the first double of his professional career.
Krystian Pearce - Barnet
Barnet remain rooted to the foot of League Two, but they are one of only seven sides to have taken something from each of their last two games. The Bees doubled their points tally for the season last Friday with a 4-0 thumping of Northampton and followed that up with a goalless draw at Wycombe. A goal and back-to-back clean sheets sees Pearce make our starting XI.
Steve Elliott - Cheltenham Town
Elliott marked his 100th start for Cheltenham on Tuesday in fitting style, with the Robins able to take maximum points from a home date with Plymouth. Elliott hauled them back into the tie after they fell behind on the half-hour mark, and a come-from-behind success means only goal difference is keeping Cheltenham out of the automatic promotion places.
Will Antwi - AFC Wimbledon
AFC Wimbledon can breathe a little easier after picking up four points over the course of the past week. They remain just three above the drop zone, but will feel as though they are heading in the right direction. Antwi has helped the Dons to turn the corner, with an important goal in a 3-1 victory over Bristol Rovers on Tuesday putting that particular tie to bed.
Ashley Vincent - Port Vale
A six-match unbeaten run has Port Vale sat second in the table, with only the fine early season form of Gillingham keeping them off top spot. A win and a draw from two testing encounters has Micky Adams' men just two points adrift of the summit. Vincent netted late on in a 4-1 victory over Wycombe on Saturday, before helping Vale to a 1-1 draw against Burton Albion on Tuesday.
Matty Blair - York City
York have made a steady start to life back on the Football League ladder, with only goal difference denying them a standing inside the play-off places. They will hope to edge their way into the group over the coming months, and recent results have been positive. Blair found the target against Dagenham on Saturday and shone again in midweek as the Minstermen saw off Accrington.
Anthony Edgar - Barnet
Barnet's return to form has already been mentioned, with the capital outfit beginning to show signs of life after getting off to a shocking start. The arrival of one Edgar - a certain Edgar Davids - has helped to turn the tide but it is another - Anthony Edgar - who caught our eye this week as he found the target against Northampton and battled bravely on the road at Wycombe.
Tom Craddock - Oxford United
With few clubs shining in consecutive fixtures, and even fewer players putting in back-to-back performances of a high standard, one display is enough for Craddock to make the grade. Admittedly that one performance was something special, with the Oxford frontman finding the target on four occasions on Saturday as Accrington endured an afternoon to forget at the Kassam Stadium.
Daniel Nardiello - Rotherham United
Nardiello did not enjoy much luck in front of goal at the weekend, with it left to others to see Rotherham past Aldershot, but he was the Millers' hero in midweek as they took six points from six in a home date with Morecambe. The much-travelled frontman bagged a match-winning brace, with two goals in as many second half minutes stunning the visitors to the New York Stadium.
Nahki Wells - Bradford City
Bradford have marched back into the top seven, with back-to-back victories this week placing them into an elite group of just three clubs. The Bantams proved too strong for Cheltenham at the weekend, before edging out Northampton on Tuesday night. Highly-rated forward Wells, who is attracting plenty of attention, was among the goals in each of those encounters.
