Carl Ikeme - Wolverhampton Wanderers After finally securing his place as Wolves' first-choice goalkeeper following a series of loan spells, Carl Ikeme is continuing to enjoy his best season to date with his parent club. As Kenny Jackett's men continue to push for promotion, Saturday's 2-0 win over Stevenage at Molineux was as much thanks to Ikeme as goalscorers Kevin Doyle and James Henry. The visitors were frustrated by a man-of-the-match performance from Ikeme, who made fantastic saves to deny Luke Freeman and Greg Tansey. Luke O'Neill - York City Called to Bootham Crescent in the midst of an injury crisis, emergency loanee Luke O'Neill has become an influential presence in the Minstermen's campaign. After being on the losing end of York's play-off semi-final victory over Mansfield in 2012, O'Neill aided Nigel Worthington's men to their fourth draw of the season at Cheltenham as they distance themselves from the danger zone. The 22-year-old full-back persisted in turning defence into attack and York reaped the rewards in 54th minute when O'Neill's whipped cross found Ryan Bowman at the back post to score the equaliser. Anthony Stewart - Morecombe A fractured hand curtailed Anthony Stewart's 2012/13 season but the 21-year-old has returned with a bang, as a goal-scoring centre-half. As the driving rain fell in Accrington, Stewart helped Wycombe seize control of the tie as the ball bobbled around the Stanley pitch. Stewart fired the Wanderers into the lead, with his third of the season, in the 72nd minute when he latched onto the end of Josh Scowen's corner to hit home from close range. Marcin Wasilewski - Leicester City It looked like a promising career could have been over for Marcin Wasilewski in 2009 when an open-leg fracture lead to a year-long lay-off and the future looked precarious again this summer when his contract with Belgian side Anderlecht expired. However, Wasilewski has found a new lease of life in the Championship after winning a one-year deal following a successful trial and the centre-back once again terrorised the defence, and came close to scoring, as Leicester beat Watford 3-0 in Saturday's lunch-time kick-off. Joe Jacobson - Shrewsbury Shrewsbury left-back Joe Jacobson took centre stage as the hosts blunted Nigel Clough's first match as Blades boss at New Meadow. As defences cancelled each other out for the majority of the first half it looked like it would take something special to break the deadlock. Jacobson duly obliged with a stunning 30-yard strike into the top corner in the 39th minute to give the Shrews a half-time lead before Liam McAliden doubled the lead late on in the second period. Rodolph Austin - Leeds United The scoreboard will tell you it was a Ross McCormack brace that earned Leeds three points against Yeovil at Elland Road. It was skipper Rodolph Austin, however, who created both chances, twice sending through McCormack, who improved his tally to eight for the season. Austin made a storming run through the midfield to set up the first before almost doubling the tally when his shot was deflected over the bar after another penetrating run. The Austin-McCormack combination dazzled once again in the 67th minute when the captain's pass allowed McCormack to fire home from 18 yards. Nick Powell - Wigan Athletic Manchester United loanee Nick Powell's hopes of following in the footsteps of Tom Cleverley, who also enjoyed a spell at the DW Stadium, took another major boost on Saturday as he sealed three points for Wigan against Huddersfield. The playmaker leads the Latics' goalscorers and added his fifth of the season as Wigan's promotion aspirations were bolstered. Powell latched onto Jordi Gomez's pass to rifle beyond Alex Smithies from close range and almost doubled his tally when a stinging effort was tipped over the bar. Steven Schumacher - Fleetwood Town After leading Bury to promotion from League Two last term, Steven Schumacher announced his return to the fourth tier with Fleetwood Town on Saturday with a hat-trick in the Cod Army's 4-1 victory over Newport. The central midfielder was gifted his first goal of the season from the spot when Robbie Willmott was sent off in the fourth minute for the Exiles. Schumacher produced a spectacular 30-yard strike which curled in off the post for his second before another penalty allowed the Everton academy graduate to complete his haul. Scott Wagstaff - Bristol City As Bristol City's struggles in League One persist they managed to earn a valuable point against Oldham at Ashton Gate. Although it was Jay Emmanuel-Thomas' acrobatic volley which gave the hosts an interval lead, midfielder Scott Wagstaff made numerous goal-saving tackles. The winger tracked back with intent to deny James Dayton and Adam Rooney as they threatened to take the spoils from Bristol late in the match. Matt Fryatt - Sheffield Wednesday Matt Fryatt's bid to convince parent club Hull City he deserves a place in the first team was enhanced on Saturday as he scored in brace in Sheffield Wednesday's first win of the season. It has been a long time coming for the Owls but when victory arrived, it did so in emphatic fashion as Wednesday beat Reading 5-2. Fryatt was at the heart of it all and got his third goal of the season in the first half before the former Leicester City striker combined with fellow loanee Connor Wickham to race through on goal and lift the ball over the onrushing Alex McCarthy. Massimo Luongo - Swindon Tottenham academy graduate Massimo Luongo sealed a permanent switch to the County Ground after a successful loan spell last season and continued to prove his goalscoring credentials in Saturday's seven-goal thriller against Port Vale. Both sides started the day on 20 points but the game was over before the hour mark when Luongo cut inside and curled a shot past goalkeeper Chris Neal before putting the icing on the cake, crashing home after some silky footwork to give the hosts a 5-2 victory.
