Hartlepool have signed striker Lewis Alessandra following his recent release by Rochdale.
Alessandra, 27, has agreed an undisclosed contract with the Sky Bet League Two club and is the eighth player to arrive at Victoria Park this summer.
"Lewis has got all the traits we were looking for - he's a good footballer, he scores goals, he's intelligent and he's ambitious," Pools boss Craig Hignett told the club's official website.
"He can play up front as a striker, just off as a number 10 or even from wide but he's another one who is forward-thinking and can add something to the squad."
Manchester-born Alessandra began his career at Oldham and has had spells at Morecambe, Plymouth and Rochdale, who he joined last summer, before finishing last season on loan at York.
