MILLER SET FOR SHOCK BRANN SWITCH?

HARTLEPOOL midfielder Tommy Miller is set to join Norwegian outfit Brann in order that he can take part in the club's Champions League campaign.

IOR - The Pool's Aberdeen-based owners - have close ties with the Scandinavian side and are likely to insist that the club agrees to a three-month loan deal which would see their most highly-prized asset miss the beginning of the English season, thereby causing manager Chris Turner a major headache.

Although a permanent switch would appear to be out of the question, Brann are desperate to successfully battle their way through the competition's qualifying stages in order to land a substantial cash windfall by competing in the group stages of the tournament.

Brann director of football Arne Moller confirmed: "Tommy Miller will be joining us for two weeks training on June 25. If he is rated good enough to play for us then he will play in the Champions League qualifiers.

"I have just spoken to Hartlepool. I know that Tommy Miller is a very, very good player and it is exciting for us.

"If we think he is the sort of player who can make Brann a better team then we will be bringing him in for a short period of time.

"He could play well for Brann and then go back to Hartlepool a better player with a bigger transfer value. Hopefully he will be coming to us on June 25 to stay for two weeks."

Meanwhile, Hartlepool's Norwegian goalkeeper Martin Hollund has signed a new contract at Victoria Park, with Turner saying: "It's good news that Martin has agreed to stay with us. I know we have two very good keepers at the club.

"Both Martin and Taffy [Anthony Williams] will start pre-season on an equal footing and whoever comes out of it will be in pole position."
