Town boss in contract talks

MACCLESFIELD TOWN have commenced negotiations with manager David Moss about a contract extension.

Moss has been charge at the Third Division outfit since November and he has impressed during his time at the helm.

"David has done a great job since he arrived. The difference has been apparent from day one," a club spokesman told the official website.

"When he first began, his brief was to keep us in the Third Division and that remains his number one priority.

"The results achieved since then have been very impressive and we feel that the club could be on the verge of a great period.

"We are certain that David is the man to take us forward in the future and we're sure the fans will agree with that.

"The contract talks are only in their very early stages but we are confident it will all go to plan."

Meanwhile, Australian striker Paul Harries has left Moss Rose after failing to impress on trial.

Macclesfield boss Moss felt that he did not provide an extra dimension to what he already had available, while he also missed out on landing Newcastle United striker James Coppinger, who joined Hartlepool United on loan.
