Matthew Pennington has been recalled from his loan spell at Walsall as Everton fight to replenish their depleted options in defence.
The 21-year-old has made five appearances for the Saddlers since joining them at the start of April, but his next game could come on the hallowed turf of Wembley.
Everton boss Roberto Martinez has a raft of concerns at the back ahead of their FA Cup semi-final date with Manchester United on Saturday.
Centre-back Ramiro Funes Mori will be missing as he starts a three-match ban for being sent off during the 4-0 defeat by Liverpool on Wednesday.
Martinez is waiting on fitness tests for Phil Jagielka (hamstring) and John Stones (stomach illness) while Seamus Coleman will miss the game with a hamstring injury.
Pennington, who joined Everton in 2013, made his first two appearances for the club earlier this season in a Capital One Cup win at Barnsley and their FA Cup third round success at home to Dagenham & Redbridge.
